AirX Utility Surveyors, Inc. serves both public and private clients by addressing several fundamental safety needs which include utility locating service, traffic control, engineering reports of our findings, traffic control plan and permit processing to name just a few.
- Working in steep terrain and limited access areas, AirX worked closely with City officials to determine the positioning of sacrificial anodes. AirX installed cathodic protection and test stations for water lines in numerous locations.
- SANDAG’s SuperLoop project involves the installation of 26 bus stations that include shelter, leaning rails, seating, lighting and electronic signage. AirX supported this project by teaming up with Geocon, Inc. and providing utility locating and potholing in downtown San Diego.
- Education Installations
- AirX has been working with the City of Carlsbad to support numerous Capital Improvement Projects. Services include lending technical expertise, hydro-excavation, locating, permit processing, traffic control planning and road repairs.
- AirX worked on a 16-mile electrical undergrounding designed to improve grid reliability in San Diego. This massive undertaking called for 800+ potholes and 60+ permits for noise, traffic control, encroachment and night work, and over 2,050 manhours.
- AirX currently works with the Otay Water District by providing utility locating services in support of the Underground Services Alert (USA) One Call Center and responding to emergency call-outs with strict 2-hour response time.
- Government Facilities
- A $200 million project to add a new freeway exit along Interstate 15, the French Valley Parkway Interchange was designed to reduce congestion and improve safety. AIrX performed locating, potholing, traffic control and permit processing in support of this project.
- The Mid-Coast Trolley Project will expand light-rail service from Downtown San Diego to the University City community. AirX provided utility locating, potholing, traffic control and hot patch services in the La Jolla portion of the project. It covered 2.5 miles in utility-dense and heavy motorist and pedestrian traffic areas.
- Part of a 10 year, billion-dollar project to test and replace outdated gas lines throughout Southern California to promote continued safety and reliability, AirX provides permit processing, traffic control, potholing, locating and street resurfacing services.
- AirX has maintained an “as needed” contract with the County of San Diego for almost 11 years. Most recently, AirX performed utility locating and vacuum excavation services for the Culvert Repair and Replacement Program, a project designed to rehabilitate or upgrade the county’s drainage facilities.
